Dear colleague:
The Faculty of Tourism of the University of Havana, the Havana Convention Centre and the Conventions Bureau of Cuba are convening the International Convention of Tourist Studies, which will be held at the Havana Convention Centre, from July 12-16, 2010.
Throughout the last 80 years, studies on tourism and hospitality have increasingly developed. The improvement of competitiveness, solutions for social and environmental impacts, broad application of information and communications technology to commercialization and management of organizations, destinations planning, quality, as well as the theoretical and practical upgrading being reached by tourist activities, have called for the discussion of good experiences in the framework of the events of this convention, which are listed below:
• 3. Conference Board of Events, Fairs and Incentives.
• V International Workshop “Challenges of Higher Education in respect to Tourist Development”
• International Seminar on Tourism and Travel Studies.
• International Seminar on Hospitality Organizations Studies.
The seminars are held to mark the XX Anniversary of the beginning of tourist studies in the University of Havana.
We intend to share good practices and their underlying theories, and also to turn this Convention into a meeting place for researchers, professors, consultants and professional organizers of fairs and congresses on the one hand, and tourism, travel and hospitality sector organizations on the other. Presentations on the future of companies will be very important as well as bilateral contacts among the various parties.
We are looking forward to meet you in July, 2010.
Yours sincerely,
